Where are you located?

#102 - 7th Street S.W. Calgary, Alberta T2P5N7

Please allow extra time for parking as this is a downtown location. There is angle parking and an underground parkade on 1st Ave SW.

Do you take walk-ins?

No, all An Tattoo artists work by appointment only. Apply for an appointment using our contact form.

Do I need laser treatment for a cover-up tattoo?

In some cases, laser treatment is recommended. However, it’s best to come in for a consultation so we can evaluate your tattoo in person. If we believe the cover-up can be done without a laser, additional treatment won’t be necessary.

Do you do cover-ups or reworks?

Yes, on a case-by-case basis. Send us clear photos of the existing tattoo along with your goals, and we’ll advise on the best approach.

Can you tattoo over scars or stretch marks?

Yes, in many cases it’s possible. However, it depends on the age, depth, and texture of the scar tissue. We recommend coming in for a consultation so we can examine the area and determine the best approach.

What happens if I gain or lose weight?

Moderate changes in weight usually do not affect tattoos. However, significant weight gain or loss can stretch or shrink the skin, which may distort the design. Rapid weight gain may also cause stretch marks, which could alter the tattoo depending on its placement.

How often should I get a touch-up?

Touch-ups are usually not necessary. As long as you keep your skin healthy by moisturizing regularly and applying sunscreen consistently, your tattoo will stay well-preserved for many years.

Will this tattoo still look good in 10 or 20 years?

Yes. If you take good care of your tattoo, it can stay beautiful for decades. Over time, all tattoos will fade a little, but proper aftercare, moisturizing, and especially consistent use of sunscreen will help it look fresh and sharp for many years.

How should I take care of my tattoo?

- Apply aftercare lotion 3–5 times a day for 3–5 days.
- Once light peeling begins, increase the frequency.
- Apply small amounts more often rather than using too much at once.
- Do not scratch or pick the scabs, even if it itches.
- Avoid exercise and alcohol for about a week.
- Stay away from swimming pools and spas until the skin heals.
- Once peeling is gone, switch to a regular body lotion.
- Keep the tattoo moisturized to maintain its freshness.
- During summer, always use sunscreen on the tattooed area.

How should I prepare for my tattoo session?

- 5–10 days before: Gently exfoliate the area, keep it moisturized, and protect your skin from tanning or sunburn.
- The day before: Get plenty of rest and stay hydrated.
- On the day: Eat a proper breakfast. Bring snacks, water, coffee, a pillow, or a blanket to stay comfortable.

How many sessions will it take for a sleeve or large-scale tattoo?

The number of sessions varies greatly depending on the artist’s pace, the design complexity, and the placement. The best way to know is to come in for a consultation — we’ll be able to give you a more accurate estimate after reviewing your ideas.

How long does a tattoo session take?

It’s difficult to give an exact time, but on average, sessions last 5–7 hours. Depending on the design, placement, and details, it could take less or more.

Is there a cost for the consultation?

Consultations are free of charge. If you decide to book a date after your consultation, a deposit will be required to hold your appointment.

Do you require a deposit?

Yes. A deposit is required to secure your date and will be applied to your final total. Full details are provided during the booking process.

How do I book a tattoo with An Tattoo?

Use our contact form to choose an artist, share your idea, placement, and size. Priority is given to projects that are open to design ideas or best match our style preference.

Do you charge by the hour or day?

We don’t charge by the hour or by the day. Tattoo prices vary depending on the size, design details, and placement. During your consultation, we can provide you with an approximate estimate.

What is your pricing?

Pricing depends on the artist, size, placement, and time required. After reviewing your booking application, we’ll provide a quote.
